Overview Bob Marley’s Birthday Soul Shakedown Dance Party W/ Strykers’ Posse

Our annual dance party celebrating Bob! This year, we bring in the beloved, powerful ladies of Strykers’ Posse to headline a night of Bob Marley tunes in honor of his words, music, and spirit. Also in the musical mix for the night is Jahiti and Papa Wabe! Food from Sweet Home Jamaica will be available for purchase so come hungry.

About Stykers’ Posse
Led by Ichelle Cole and Yvonne Deane- Hibbert, known to many as the East Coast “Queens of Reggae”, Strykers’ Posse has been a powerful force in the regional reggae scene for many years, beloved by audience and artists alike. Built around Ichelle and Yvonne’s harmonies, the duo locks into an undeniable roots reggae groove that moves.  They have graced the stage supporting such acts as The Wailers, Burning Spear, Culture, Yellow Man, Tony Rebel, Kymani Marley, Yami Bolo, Judy Mowatt, Sister Carol, Sanchez, Sugar Minott, Abyssinians, Jr. Marvin of the Wailers, Toots & the Maytals, Third World, Maxi Priest, and many others. The group was voted Baltimore City’s 2000 Best Reggae Band and has been nominated several times in the WAMA (Washington Area Musician Association) awards. Strykers’ Posse received the 2000 Dennis Brown Award at the Washington DC Reggae Music Awards and received several citations over the years from the State of Maryland recognizing them for their continued support in the community.

About Jahiti
Opening our celebration of Bob Marley, Jahiti is an artist of many musical souls whose sound is often likened to icons such as Ritchie Havens, Bob Dylan, and, of course, Bob Marley. With family roots in Jamaica, Jahiti was one of the founders of Baltimore’s beloved Brown FISH whose “hip hop meets reggae” sound was a sensation in Charm City and beyond. Now as a solo artist, Jahiti remains close to the spirit of Brown FISH with a roots reggae soul vibe.
